VIRIDYN RO-KP
READY-to-SHIP DRY SUPERHYDROPHOBIC FIELD REMEDIATION KIT
Activate on-site with Ethyl Acetate or Acetone
VIRIDYN RO-KP is an RF-transparent superhydrophobic field kit delivered as a dry, non-hazardous material and activated on-site with commonly available solvents (Ethyl Acetate or Acetone).
Ships solvent-free, increasing access for VIRIDYN superhydrophobic kit users in remote, international or logistically challenging environments.
Easy to ship, store and deploy.
How to Activate VIRIDYN RO-KP
125 ML Size (covers approximately 2 square meters)
Open dry material bottle (125 ml size).
Add 66.6 grams of preferred solvent (Ethyl Acetate OR Acetone).
Activate overnight.
Immediately before application, shake activated material vigorously (60 seconds).
Apply VIRIDYN RO-KP with roller supplied in kit OR standard 4-inch roller with ½-inch nap thickness.
First coat the edges of the surface.
Use a cross-hatch pattern to apply one coat of VIRIDYN RO-KP:
One pass top-to-bottom, one-pass left-to-right. Objective is to ensure uniform distribution of VIRIDYN RO-KP on the surface.
For best performance, avoid excessive touching and abrasion of surface.

Key Features & Benefits
Remediates RF-Transparent, Superhydrophobic Surfaces: Essential for long-term superhydrophobic maintenance and protection of transmitting and receiving surfaces.
RF Transparent: VIRIDYN RO-KP coatings allow radio frequency signals to pass through with minimal interference.
Dry, Non-Hazardous: Ships solvent-free, increasing availability to users in remote, international or logistically challenging environments. Activates easily with the addition of commonly available solvents (Ethyl Acetate or Acetone).
Rain Fade Reduction: Helps mitigate signal attenuation caused by rain, ice, and snow.
Minimizes Signal Loss: Effective in Ku and Ka bands to ensure optimal performance.
Prevents Water Film Formation: Eliminates the risk of signal distortion due to moisture buildup.
Major Applications
Protects Satellite, Antenna and Radar Equipment: Reduces signal loss for satellite dishes, radomes, antenna arrays, flat panel antennas, and radar systems.
Improves Performance of Environmental Sensors: Reduces signal attenuation on wind and radiometric sensors in wet conditions.
Reduces Ice and Snow Buildup: Protects mid-path passive reflectors and repeaters by encouraging ice and snow release.
VIRIDYN RO-KP is a 1-step, air-dry, superhydrophobic coating.
When coated with VIRIDYN RO-KP, water forms beads and rolls-off the treated surface. This prevents water-film formation and reduces ice build-up.
The VIRIDYN RO-KP coated surface is frosty in appearance due to nanoparticles on the surface. Super-hydrophobic performance is retained under most conditions and for extended periods of time.
VIRIDYN RO-KP can be used for anti-wetting, anti-icing, and anti-snow applications.
VIRIDYN RO-KP repels rain, ice, and snow for years. The coated surface may be washed with a hose spray, but handling or rubbing it, will reduce performance.
Spray application provides the best appearance and most consistent results. Coverage will vary by thickness of coating applied. One gallon covers 200 to 400 square feet.
