VIRIDYN 101-X: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
The Challenge:
A major defence technology company required a robust nano-coating that would protect critical circuit boards for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The customer required a coating that would guarantee uninterrupted performance in harsh environments and mission-critical scenarios.
The customers requirements for the coating were:
RF transparency
Corrosion and tin-whisker prevention
Ingress protection from foreign contaminants (e.g. dust and liquids)
High grade oleophobicity and hydrophobicity
The Solution:
ViriDyn and partners worked closely with the customer to identify the correct formulation that would offer all-weather, all-environment protection for critical circuit boards as per the customer’s requirements. A formulation of VIRIDYN 101-X (4%) was identified as the best solution, ensuring that key circuit boards would operate without interruption.
